The subject of this exhibit for both adults
and children, is Pinocchio, a special passion of the
internationally-famous American artist, Jim Dine.
In the early 1960’s Dine was one of the
pioneers of “happenings” – exhibitions in which the public also
participated. Born in Cincinnati in 1935, Jim moved from
expressionism towards Pop Art, and then moved again to follow a
more personal form of self-expression. He is especially famous
for his highly-prized lithographs |

A Living Nativity
In the old town there is a living re-enactment of the nativity.
The village is also home to the romantic villa where the great
French Impressionist Pierre Auguste Renoir, worked until his
death., Open to the public and surrounded by its original garden
the villa provides visitors with the opportunity to view the
workshops and personal effects of the famous painter. |
