The popular tradition has it that the name of Tavole derives from the abundant production of timber, which came from the woods of the upper Val Prino through the homonymous watercourse, to the shipyards of Porto Maurizio.
The village is made up of three hamlets: the Villa or Villa Oreggi, at the entrance to the town with the oratory dedicated to San Carlo Borromeo; Novelli hamlet in the upper part to the left of the town square with the oratory of San Rocco; Revelli village in the upper part on the right of the square, with the oratory of San Benedetto Revelli.
