This season’s major
art exhibition in the castello is American artist Jim
Dine’s interpretations of Pinocchio, running from 17 December to
March 2012. Originally a member of the Pop Art circle, his later
work has focused on the character of Pinocchio, including a 9
metre bronze statue and a series of lithographs illustrating
Carlo Collodi’s original novel. As Dine said “the idea of a
talking stick becoming a boy is like a metaphor for art, and
it’s the ultimate alchemical transformation.” Connected with the
exhibition the village council will be organising events for
children.
