Originally from Varese, Fabio worked initially as an electrician.
After moving to Apricale, one day he decided to make a colourful
wooden postbox, his wife is a painter, to put up outside his house.
It attracted the interest of a local Apricale resident who asked
Fabio if he could make one for her too. After that other people
asked for one to brighten up the entrance to their house, until the
cheerful postboxes spread throughout the village. This was the
beginning of Fabio’s still growing business in hand-crafted wooden
products, which include also ‘door protectors’ that many people
wisely mount in front of their door to prevent the ‘released smell’
of the (over) abundant cat population from getting under their front
door. Some of these simple wooden gates Fabio embellishes with
images of Apricale, for example, the Church spire. Such pictures in
wood are another product that Fabio makes in his workshop, that
could be a beautiful decoration on your wall. He also restores
antique furniture and can make other wooden products for the house
to order. His produce can be seen in his workshop in Via Martiri-look
out for colourful shapes in wood hanging in the carrugi!
