I live in Genoa but for two years I
have been coming to Apricale where me and my husband, Renato, have a
house. I was looking for a place where I could write, a place full
of history, culture and humanity-it's not easy to find all these
things together! Moreover, I was also looking for quiet, which is
necessary for writing. I found in Apricale, a
hilltop village, everything I was
looking for. Such villages ask for a little effort to arrive there,
that remind us, for instance, that walking is an essential part of
our lives, indispensable also for our mind; these are the most
interesting places for me. In Genoa, I teach History of Contemporary
Art at the Academy of Fine Arts and apart from art another big
passion is writing. With another writer, Claudia Priano, I have
opened Officina Letteraria, a Creative Writing workshop that I
brought to Apricale this year, for a summer session. I have
published three novels, La memoria impossibile (TEA),
Famiglia, femminile plurale ( Mondadori), La distanza necessaria (Il
Canneto), and a story for the anthology, Non è un paese per donne, (
Mondadori). My play Madri Clandestine was staged at the Teatro Duse
in Genoa in 2011 and at the Civic Theatre of Sassari in 2012.
